The Great Lavra of Saint Sabba - Pictures.

A spiritual oasis in the heart of the Judaean desert. Here in fact "the desert bloomed" yielding sweetest and unspoiling fruit. The Monastery built by Saint Sabba the Sanctified, has continuous services now for more than approximately 1500 years, supporting Orthodoxy worldwide and living the struggles of asceticism and of the Faith. It is also the cradle of the ecclesiastic ritual, the Typicon. Here is guarded as a sacred treasure the incorrupt relics of her holy founder.
