Mount Sinai

A shrine that has one of the most distinguished places while it is quite a few kilometers form Jerusalem. At the foot of the mountain the people of Israel made their most important stop in their forty year march in the desert. At its peak one of history's most known and brightest Theophanies (appearance of God) happened. The Lord appeared to the Prophet Moses and delivered to him the Divine Law. A place of reference on the same mountain is the Holy Monastery of the Great Martyr Catherine with its unique library and an amazing collection of icons.
